Belgium Begins The Transition From Democracy To Sharia

By • on December 4, 2012

Yesterday two successful candidates in municipal elections were sworn into office in Belgium.  What makes this noteworthy is that they come from the Islam Party.  This party officially promotes sharia law and wants Belgium to move from being a democratic state to that of Islamic state based on sharia. The Gatestone Institute recently discussed the issue.

During the swearing in ceremony an outraged citizen pointed out the dangers associated with pro-sharia politicians being elected in a democratic society.

The following footage with English subtitles is a record of what happened:

Good news from Belgium. A friend just wrote with 3 bits of good news from Belgium: 1) no more burkas in public. Here’s the full email (published with permission):

I am very proud of my small country for the stance it has taken on defending democracy, liberty, and human rights. I hope we can keep it up, and I think we can.

    (1) We voted an anti-burka law that has come in effect and is being en
forced by policemen in Brussels. The law actually says you cannot walk around with a mask on your face, in our democracy you must show your face to interact socially with others. Certain interest groups have of course appealed the law and I’m happy to say that the court of appeals upheld the law this month so now it is written in stone and cannot be ignored.

    (2) Our police and leaders were very effective in dismantling the Sharia4Belgium organization, and one of the main spokesmen of this group is now in prison… for (get this) : RACISM and Inciting Hatred against NON-MUSLIMS. Yes we are apparently one of the only countries who has realized that it is a truly toxic and racist ideology that we are dealing with. More countries should take this view, and open their eyes to where the xenophobia and racism REALLY is coming from .

    (3) A Belgian University student, Sophie Peeters, published a film called “FEMME DE RUE” which threw light on the treatment that women receive in the streets of Brussels, when walking past certain neighborhoods and tea-rooms frequented by a certain category of muslim men. The verbal and physical abuse she filmed, simply for walking down the street wearing jeans or a dress, was so shocking that it incited the lawmakers of Brussels to make a new law forbidding insults and harassment in the street and making this punishable by fine. Women in these neighborhoods discuss in the movie the fact that they feel they must either start to wear the hijab (in Brussels!), or move away.
Of course to be fined for insulting a woman, the man has to be caught in the act and I doubt this will happen often, but it still sends the signal that we will not put up with this behavior and we are not going to give up our western way of life.

Since publishing the film Ms Peeters has disappeared from the internet and it is a bit hard to find the whole movie on youtube… Anyway if you could find a version of that movie and translate it, I’m sure your readers would appreciate.

Of course faced with all this, you do hear many cried of “islamophobia” coming from right and left… and hijabs are a common sight in every town and village, but the big picture is, most Belgians aren’t naive. Good for us….
