The English Defence League Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Division Now Has A Facebook Page
The Facebook description states: “This is a division of the English Defence League especially for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people who support and identify with the aims and ideals of the EDL.“ The Facebook group can be found HERE.
The ideology of sharia that appears to be promoted by our ruling elite is not very friendly to homosexuality. In this way they are giving to homosexuals with one hand (civil partnerships, etc) and taking away to a far greater extent by facilitating the spread of sharia norms. If sharia manages to expand and get a foothold in Britain then it will be more than civil partnerships that will be put in danger. It must be remembered that sharia is not something that you get at the pick ‘n’ mix counter but a total system to govern the lives of Muslims and to a large extent non Muslims. Under sharia non-Muslims have their place as second class citizens (dhimmies) and have to pay a special tax, the Jizya, in order to be “tolerated”.
By opposing sharia and including people from different backgrounds and ethnicities the English Defence League has demonstrated that it is inclusive, open minded and committed to equality. It has demonstrated that it is willing to stand up and be counted when it comes to defending these noble principles. When will the British Government, British trade unions, Unite Against Fascism, etc. come out and oppose this iniquitous and discriminatory system of sharia? They may claim to be in favour of equality but by not opposing sharia they are demonstrating that their commitment may not be totally sincere. They are perhaps implying that discrimination is fine so long as it is done in the name of Islam.

People might think that these homophobic muslims are only to be found in Saudi Arabia and the US. Not so. Dispatches has now done three documentaries over several years proving that in mosques spread across the UK there are preachers calling for gay people to be murdered. These things don’t get on the news, but you can be sure if anyone was calling for muslims to be murdered, it would be all over the news. No-one should have the right to be inciting others to murder, even if it is based on the a religious book of a desert tribe.
In Feb 2009 the government leaked a report to the Guardian saying they were considering making islamic homophobia a crime. Muslim organizations were outraged, saying that would mean all muslims were extremists. That proposal was shelved.
Meanwhile homophobic violence in some parts of London has gone up by 190% in the last year. Muslim attacks on gay men in east London have left one young man paralyzed, and another young model has had his face scarred for life. Since a Gallop poll last year found not 1 muslim in 1000 who thought homosexuality is acceptable, maybe all muslims are extremists. Why do we tolerate islam, when islam is so intolerant?
When nancy boys and football hooligans and heavy metal fans are forming an alliance, you just know that we are in an extraordinary and untenable situation. What does the government do? Pass another toothless piece of legislation supposed to stop homophobia. Only guess what? Religious groups are exempt.
When are the (alleged) majority of moderate muslims going to start saying these extremists don’t represent them?
