Eppur Si Muove: Fjordman Compares The Trial Of Geert Wilders With The Trial Of Galileo

By CMB • on February 2, 2010

Geert Wilders is a heretic as far as the multicultural elite is concerned. This elite seems to view Islam as a wonderfully tolerant religion that mirrors its multiculturalist vision for a new world order. Sharia therefore is perhaps seen as a model of multicultural law and as such something that should be embraced and encouraged. Under sharia, criticism of Islam is strictly forbidden and in this way Geert Wilders is effectively being tried for breaking sharia law. It must be remembered that sharia law is barbaric and totally at odds with Western notions of justice. It is discriminatory in that all are not equal before it.

Like Galileo in the Seventeenth Century, Geert Wilders is seen as a threat to the establishment because he will not submit to their dogmatic view of the world. What sort of science would we have today if the truths promoted by Galileo had been destroyed, for political reasons – we would probably still be using horse drawn transport. What sort of world will we live in the future if Geert Wilders gagged for telling the truth. Like in Galileo’s day, it is the truth itself that is on trial.

Fjordman has written an excellent essay over at Gates of Vienna that draws comparisons between the ideologically motivated trial of Geert Wilders and that of Galileo Galilei.
